Mira Veda

The singer/songwriter/poet/activist has crafted a style that uniquely expresses what she calls indo funk - soul. The passion birthed her debut album titled Infinite Love.

Working with Juno award winning producer/arranger/composer Chin Injeti and singer/composer/songwriter and President of NARAS (the Grammys), Larry Batiste helped give Infinite Love its honey-soaked flavor. The kinetic energy of “Tell me” is just a beginning. Mira is now working on a second album that will drop in the fall of 2008 and will include more of the ethnic sounds her mother use to play while she was growing up. She is collaborating on this with producer/composer/songwriter Karsh Kale of Six Degrees Records as well as Gaurav Raina of MIDIval PunditZ who was featured on the soundtrack of Monsoon Wedding. Mira is also working with Chebi Sabbah, Rishi Rish, and producer/songwriter Paula Gallitano who has collaborated with Tina Turner and Lalah Hathaway.

Among Mira's credits are working with Kenz Desai, Bohemia, Shabaaz, Amani Anansi, Ernesto Sunny Padilla, and Seven with Seven and the Sun. Musically, Mira has shown immense range and ability with a collaborative with Kool and the Gang and Deepak Chopra in which Mira sang chilling impressions of Indian rags.

Her vision was recognized by producers of a benefit for children at the Neverland Ranch, where Mira performed “What We All Need Now” written for Oneness, an organization that promotes racial unity. Her interest in integrating into all aspects of society, including politics, has lead her to blog on the Huffington Post and participate in awareness-building for the Indian community with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in Washington.

Mira recently spent time in India connecting to her roots and exploring the authenticity of music in India. Although she says music is “a part of me which I cannot seem to let go of,” she doesn't live through it. This attitude means that Veda has turned down lucrative opportunities she feels may have interfered with her artistic integrity. Her fearless creative vision has won her respect in the music community, reflected when she was elected to the board of the GRAMMY Awards in 2007.

Infinite Love by Mira Veda
Building the «Infinite love» album from a simple intention to sensuous musical creation topped with a sultry mellifluous voice was no easy task. Her debut album «is smart, sexy and expressive» and the intoxicating fusion of sound from the east and west is Mira's homage to her own mixed cultural upbringing.
